Founded in 1944, R D Lambert & Son has been serving the construction needs of Hampton Roads and the surrounding region for over seventy years. Based in Chesapeake Virginia, R D Lambert & Son is a full service General Contractor with an extensive portfolio of completed projects including; Health Care, Higher Education, Religious, Commercial, Financial institutions, Manufacturing, Warehouse, Food processing, Federal State and local Government projects and many others.
The company, then based in Norfolk Virginia began work in 1944 under the leadership of Mr. R D Lambert, incorporated in 1962 and has been in continuous operation since. R D Lambert was family owned for much of its history; leadership of the company was entrusted to Charlie Lambert, the son of R D until 1997 when long time employees Gary Richardson (President) and Sue Allensworth (Secretary) then purchased it.
Specializing in commercial construction, R D Lambert has a vast portfolio of projects ranging in value from a few hundred thousand to several million dollars, many for repeat clients. R D Lambert’s services include General Contracting for Bid-Build projects and they have a DBIA designated professional on staff to assist with Design-Build projects.
